Encapsulated O-rings

An Encapsulated 'O'-Ring entails the confinement of an 'O'-Ring within a seamless and consistent FEP/PFA encapsulation. This encapsulation surrounds an elastomeric core, providing complete protection against the surrounding media. These rings amalgamate the energizing characteristics of an elastomeric 'O'-Ring with the resistance to harsh chemicals and extreme temperatures offered by FEP/PFA.

  • An economical substitute for Kalrez® and comparable perfluoroelastomer 'O'-Rings.

  • Dynamic sealing force characteristic of an elastomeric 'O'-Ring

  • Resistance to compression set/cold flow challenges observed in solid 'O'-Rings

Encapsulation options

We offer two types of encapsulation

  • FEP encapsulation - This is the standard material for all applications up to 205°C. It is resistant to virtually all chemicals.

  • PFA encapsulation - This has the same properties as FEP encapsulation, however, it has a higher heat resistance for applications above 205°C.

Silicone inner core
An excellent material choice for most applications. Silicone has a higher flexibility than Viton, so has more elasticity.

Viton inner core
This has greater chemical resistance than silicone, so therefore if the encapsulation is damaged in operation, the viton has greater resistance to chemical attack.

Silicone hollow inner core
The hollow core offers further compressibility than the solid silicone core. This means less clamping force is required to enable its sealing abilities. This is ideal for fragile applications using delicate materials.

Silione/Viton Square core
This features the same properties of the solid encapsulated O rings, but it is instead in the profile of a square gasket.

Silione/Viton rectangle core
This features the same properties of the solid encapsulated O rings, but it is instead in the profile of a rectangular gasket.
